Geological analysis and testing took shape in 1945, when the Vietnamese geological sector was founded, and officially began operating in the fourth quarter of 1955.
Despite many ups and downs and repeated organizational changes, the field's growth has been marked by different names under different agencies:
- Testing Board (1962);
- Laboratory (1965);
- Institute of Chemical Analysis under the General Department of Geology (8/1986);
- Analysis and Testing Center under the General Department of Geology (1976);
- Analysis and Testing Sub-Institute under the Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources (1981)...
In May 1991, the Minister of Heavy Industry decided to establish the Geological Analysis and Testing Center.
On 29 September 2026, the Director General of the Vietnam Department of Geology and Minerals signed Decision No. 165/QĐ-ĐCKS on the functions, duties, powers and organizational structure of the Geological Analysis and Verification Center under the Vietnam Department of Geology and Minerals, Ministry of Industry and Trade.
